The New Technology in PS4

The release of the all-new Playstation 4 is not just something that affects the gaming industry; it is a milestone of our whole technological advancement. The first innovations always happen in military technology, but the entertainment sector is not far behind. Playstation 4 will encompass new technologies starting from physics engines and ending with motion sensors and other human interface devices. Playstation 4 is what sets the bar and all the other technology firms must make the leap. And it is not just other console makers, but firms behind all the software and games. They have to consider what ps4 can offer with its capabilities and what the users are expecting to have in their games. Motion sensor technology is still very new and today’s games are more like examples showing what the technology is, rather than smoothly integrating it into games. When Playstation 4 is released, this kind of content will not be enough to interest anyone. People will be looking to forget the line between reality and the gaming world. People have been talking a lot about Ultra High-Definition video as maybe being a part of ps4 technology, but that has now confirmed to be false. Most users don’t have screens that are large enough to take full use of the pixel ratio of Ultra HD anyway, so this really isn’t much of a disappointment to worry about. One aspect to be on the lookout of is the online side of ps4. Many games will be available only as direct downloads, as the internet speed will be fast enough to most people in 5 years time. Faster broadband speeds also means less lag in multiplayer games and many developers will be focusing their effort on multi-player only gaming content. Those of us interested in single-player games will probably benefit from new campaigns and chapters that are available to our purchased ps4 games online. Combining motion sensor technology and fast broadband speeds will equal an experience like never before in boxing simulations or other games of that nature. It is no wonder people are already very excited about Playstation 4, when we look at these very real possibilities and try to imagine the level of improvement over the consoles of today. Luckily, those who are very impatient can already use these technologies to a limited extent while they wait for the oncoming release of Playstation 4.
