Rumoured Features of PS4

Whenever the release of a highly anticipated product is still far in the future, the consumer is left with little or no information from the manufacturers. And when people’s curiosities are left unfulfilled, rumours start spreading. We heard not long ago, that Sony had actually decided to cancel the release of Playstation 4 altogether. Such a turn of events seemed incomprehensible to many ps4 fans and we later found out that indeed there was no basis for this; a simple error that had occurred in translation of some content from a Japanese website. This goes to show how little it takes to get rumours going about a subject that interests many. Another recent story evolved around the possibility of ps4 incorporating the so-called Ultra HD technology. While a picture that has 16 times more pixels sounds enticing for Playstation 4, a look at the facts will quickly prove this rumour impossible. This technology will be showcased at the 2012 Olympic Games, but will not be commercially available before 2020. That is 4 years too late to integrate it with playstation 4. Sometimes it doesn’t take an error in translation to get a rumour going. People look at the various technologies that are coming out next and daydream about what they would like to see together in one package. Who wouldn’t want more for the same price? Once a certain idea starts spreading, it’s like the telephone game you all played in kindergarten. A simple wish becomes the certified truth from Sony Corporation by the end of the day. Also, the psychological aspect of it favours the further spreading of these rumours. When an event that is supposed to happen in the future is something favourable for a person, their mind will grab onto any shred that looks like supporting evidence. Their belief and optimism will fill in the rest of the gaps and the next thing you know, they are telling their neighbour about what to expect next from Playstation 4. A simple solution would be to only read Playstation 4 news posted directly by Sony Corporation, but as many of the content is in Japanese, consumers and ps4 fans are left with waiting longer, trusting someone’s translation or even trying to crack the text with a translation robot, which rarely results in anything good. No solution for faulty rumours therefore exists, try to be patient and read only trusted ps4 news websites.
