PS4 Price - What will it cost?

Most gaming enthusiasts are already looking forward to the release of Playstation 4, although we still have maybe another 5 years to wait. There is no concrete release date or a set price, but that won’t stop us from speculating. The main rival, Microsoft, will have to coordinate the release of its next generation Xbox to be around the same price range as ps4. Being the most popular gaming console in the world, Playstation 4 is likely to be affordable to most. They probably won’t change their price range too much when compared to previous models. Of course we have to consider the cost of living is rising along with the salaries, so the actual number is likely to be bigger by 2016. When we look this from Sony’s point of view, they have two options. Make ps4 with more capabilities and charge a higher price, thus making it a high-end product. This would bring with it a decrease in the number of sales, but could make up for it with the actual profit revenue generated. And if Playstation 4 really impresses people, many might be willing to pay the extra buck to join the ranks of owners. The other option is to aim for the middle ground, as they have done thus far. Playstation has always been a people’s console, affordable to most of us, but still offering top-of-the-line performance. You can be sure to take full advantage of all the latest games for years to come. There is also a third option – the release of two separate models, a high-end version of ps4 alongside the regular one. There has been no confirmed report about this, but the most likely outcome is that Sony will not change its marketing strategy and will continue with the golden mean. People who are starting to put money aside will have to consider the cost of games too, which is not negligible. Most stores will probably offer a complementary game or two with the purchase of Playstation 4, but those will only last for a limited time. Today we are talking about games costing somewhere around 10-20% of the price of the console itself. So, with the purchase of 5 ps4 games you could buy another console. This is why many games don’t sell as good as they could, because many people have to resort to piracy to keep having new gaming experiences.
